Dress Up For Him

Dress up for him & then walk out and do a twirl in front of him, showing him you still want his approval! He is, of course, the only one that you want to impress! One of the most difficult things for me to believe was when my husband would tell me I’m beautiful when I’d had a long day, my makeup was off, my clothes less than impressive and on top of all that I hadn’t been to the gym in a month! What he was trying to tell me was that the beauty he saw in me was in my effort to be both physically and spiritually beautiful! It is more important to our husbands that we make an effort to be presentable than it is what our legs look like in those shorts! So, I challenge you to remember:

  1. As age diminishes our outward beauty, see it as opportunity to grow and develop inner beauty! We can’t necessarily do much about our outward appearance but we have everything to do with how beautiful we are inside! If we really dedicated each day to becoming more lovely inside our husbands would be so in love with us that we would not feel inadequate. After all, inward beauty is not easily replaced.
  2. Make the effort. Much of marriage is disciplining ourselves to do things we don’t want to do when we don’t feel like doing it. Exercising falls in this category! How ‘in shape’ we are is not the issue. This, as so many other physical things, is a heart issue. Do you love your husband enough that you want to please him? Are you willing to sacrifice some TV time to become more attractive for your husband? We aren’t called to look like models; we are called to grow in selflessness and work hard to meet our husbands’ every need!
  3. Do a little dance. Men love when women dress up just for them! Make sure your husband knows that he is the only one you seek to impress. When you are getting ready to go on a date or somewhere special try getting ready by yourself and coming out to present yourself like you did when he used to pick you up for dates! This builds the suspense and shows him that you are still willing to put in time to look beautiful just for him!
